Conditions of Charter

Cancellations 30 days prior to charter commencement, will receive a full refund less $50 cancellation fee.

Cancellation less than 30 days from commencement date will receive a full refund less $50 cancellation fee, only if an alternative charter can be arranged.
- Scenicland Houseboats Ltd. reserves the right to cancel a charter:

If for a specific reason the Houseboat can not be made available:

Adverse weather conditions.
Note: Under conditions a. and b. Scenicland Houseboats Ltd. will offer an alternative mutually agreed period or provide a full refund if required.

If Scenicland Houseboats Ltd. at the charter commencement are not satisfied with the ability of the charterers to sail, handle, navigate and respect the charter vessel, or alternatively at any time during the charter period consider the vessel to be in an unsafe location, or if the action of the charterers are endangering the vessel, its occupants or any other third party, Scenicland Houseboats Ltd. reserves the right to either:- Provide a professional skipper onboard at the charters expense.- Terminate the charter without refund of either charter fee or charter security bond.- Recall the vessel to any mooring or anchorage, which it considers to be secure.

The Houseboat must remain in the area designated by Scenicland Houseboats Ltd. and at all times with numbers not exceeding the number allowed onboard under the vessel survey.

The Houseboat must be secure on anchor or a mooring one-hour before darkness. The boat must not manoeuvre within the hours of darkness.

Charterer must adhere to all current fishing regulations.

No animals/pets allowed on the Houseboat.

No firearms allowed on the Houseboat.

Smoking isn't permitted inside the vessel.

No fires are to be lit on board or around the lake
-
All rubbish must be returned to the marina for disposal.

Alcohol is not to be consumed in excess. It impairs judgement and may lead to an accident or drowning.

The Houseboat must at all times be under the control of the designated skipper.

The skipper must be a minimum of 25 years of age and hold a valid drivers licence.
Conditions of Payment

A booking is confirmed after the payment of a deposit of $100. The balance of the charter is to be paid 30 days prior to the charter commencing during the PEAK season, and 10 days prior to the charter commencing during the SHOULDER or ECONOMY season.

The security bond is to be paid by Credit Card/Cash or Bank Cheque on arrival for the charter. Credit Card imprints & Bank Cheques will only be drawn on within 7 days of charter if required, for the following:
- Loss or damage to the Houseboat.

Cost of fuel

Cleaning of boat if returned in an unreasonable state.

Defrayment of costs due to vessel not being returned at scheduled time. Extenuating weather conditions are exempt.In the case of cash, a refund will be given within 7 days of the termination of the charter less any of the above.

Insurance: The Houseboat is fully insured against fire, marine and collision risks & third party liability. If during the charter period damage or loss is caused, the charterer is liable as follows:

To pay full excess on vessel insurance policy.

To pay full amount of loss or damage should the claim be declined by the insurance Company for any reason due to negligence.

All equipment supplied is used by the charter party at their own risk
PLEASE NOTE: The charter bond will be retained if the vessel is operated outside Scenicland Houseboats rules and conditions of charter.
